Things to consider when installing your site sign

Before we discuss installing a site sign, let’s spend a little time discussing what a site sign typically is used for and made out of.  A site sign is typically a temporary sign that will be in place for a year or even longer.  This is important because this period of time is significant, so you want your sign to stay looking good for a good period of time.  They are typically used by the following industries.  Real-Estate, Construction, Developments, Subdivisions, and Banking.


A site sign is usually constructed on some form of 4’x4’ or 4’x8’ sign material.  Make sure you choose the right sign material for your particular installation method.  For example you do not want to mount an aluminum sign between two posts.  It is just too flexible and the wind would tear it up.  When mounting between two posts you want a rigid product such as wood or aluma-lite.


When choosing where to place your site sign you must consider the following.

1. You want to place your site in a spot with very high visibility.
2. You need to make sure that you are within the limits of local sign ordinances, and DOT regulations.
3. Make sure you are not on your neighbor’s property.
4. You will also want to make sure the sign is not blocking the visibility of pedestrians or vehicles.  This is important.  You do not want to be liable for an accident.
5. You want to also be sure that you choose the right method of installation for your sign.  Make sure it will last and does not fall down before you are finished with it.
